Who We Are
The Know Your Rights Foundation is an organization dedicated to informing the countless communities within the United States of their Constitutional Rights when dealing with law-enforcement at routine police stops, without such basic knowledge in many cases, leads to catastrophic even deadly encounters with the police, mostly within impoverished African American and Latin American neighborhoods.
Today the Know Your Rights Foundation is working to play an active and leading role in educating the many communities in this vital information which has eluded and escaped and in many cases been withheld from their understanding.
We believe that building a broad-based movement led by enthusiastic, passionate, compassionate and extremely motivated people of all backgrounds, grounded in grassroots community organizing will create highly informed and empowered communities able to assert their rights and take action when those rights are violated.
Our Mission
Our mission is to educate the urban communities on their fundamental Constitutional Rights and supply these underprivileged communities with the materials, programs and interactive workshops needed to navigate basic traffic stops, terry stops and the legal system as a whole.
Our Vision
We want to build trust between the urban community and the law that secures and protects their rights, which will ultimately minimize and eventually eradicate the many senseless deaths of, and police brutality to, innocent unarmed American Citizens, an overwhelming majority of which happens to be from Black and Latin communities, and in most cases happens BECAUSE of a lack of knowledge and education in this vital information!
The Know Your Rights Foundation envisions an America where everyone’s human rights and Constitutional Rights are respected and protected, we’re communities can appreciate their differences and stand together for justice and equality, where everyone is dedicated to the protection and preservation of our Constitutional freedoms.
Know Your Rights Foundation envisions a peaceful world where every person’s human rights and dignity are respected, where communities appreciate differences and stand together for justice and equality, and where each person contributes to the common good.
